You ask me how we come together and meet….
Only to find we have been apart. The meeting we thought was new….
Was just a meeting for us to see each other again?
What happens when two separated souls come again together? The find the joy of reunion. The pain of separation, the confusion of what will be and should be and what has to be done.
So why did I meet you now? Why now do you come to me as my life finally ends. I needed you when I was younger, your age. That would have been the time for us. Yet here you stand before me tempting me to think the thoughts that only the human side of me can fulfill. Our souls dance nightly into the morning hours we speak goodnight.
I sip coffee as you down your last soda.
You smoke your last cigarette as I step into my shower.
You are a man of dreams. Me a woman of age.
Your youth is so tender, to fresh for me to now steal.
I have no right to love you, no right to be at your side.
Yet you honor me with your presence and seem to not mind that
I'm Kathy Bates and your Val Kilmer.
In all the ages…
never have I met someone I should not love.
I have had two loves in five thousand years….
One was as a man this one is now as a woman.
I loved her so much.
She was so wonderful… Her skin so creamy, her long dark hair so soft.
Her sweet scent filled my heart with glory
but then too life circumstances kept us from happiness.
I knew from the look in her eyes she loved me… and with that I was content.
Your eyes when I saw them contented me. Your smile gave me life.
But now, what's the difference?
How did it all end?
It doesn’t feel over.
Not now that we are again dancing the spirit dance.
But spirit flight does not show me eyes, and your smile I pray still lifts your face.
I will promise you this… in what ever manner you need me… I will be there for you. Just to know you think of me at all… is what I will settle for.
Just the memory of your eyes.
Eyes that show the way your mind works… they way it dances to so many tunes of knowledge anyone else's mind could not begin to comprehend. I am glad I hear your music, and can tap my foot to your beat. I am too far gone to believe I could bring to you completeness, be the one to fill your desires… It is the worse for me my age. Age just one of the many things that would never allow Val to want Kathy… Age so much for so little. Age the symbol of all that is now leading to my justification.
But thank you for enjoying what I can offer, that you want.
Thank you for taking what you will have.
Thank you for saying "Thank you" to me
as if what I do could possibly be anything you would want.
Thank you for living in a time I can know you.
And most of all
thank you for not being upset that I love you….
I the hunch back and you the Notre Dame.
Dance the dance on the winds of freedom and find you a mate truly worthy of your greatness. Make us both happy in your happiness… And both our hearts filled with your dreams… Youth is what youth needs, so they may make more youth as they age.
I will move with you in my soul as you dance the dance I missed in my youth.
And in my heart I will know this is the way it has to be as age should not cage youth.
Just one soul,
one only soul,
in a sea of sooo many souls…
one soul too late for my dance card, filled ten years longer.
One soul so perfect in his movements and thinking,
while, waves of people should reveal many of your kind
yet,
in all the universe of souls…
there is only one you…
and only forever will their ever be.
I wish I had a river I could skate away on…while I wait.
Skating along the shorelines of the universe, while the youthful souls still dance in the blue forest moonlight…. Skating to the tune of the song of the ageless, timeless forever that one day will again bring us to one soul….
That day will be my tomorrow I wait for … to Dance finally with my heart once more, where all lovers rejoin with all their true loves, in the sea of souls.
Where no body ages us, or keeps us tied to the world with strings that force us to do what we must for youth….
