Does anyone know the proper way to tend a garden? I planted my seeds, left for an hr or so. When I came back they were all weeds. Anyone know the steps to a healthy garden? My hands hurt from all the weed pulling and I do not care to go through that again.

Im not sure if this is true or not, but I was once told that if you pull them immediately they wont grow back and the sooner pulled the better. As to why they happen Im not entirely sure either. I can suggest plant one wait about for a bit and then plant the next. See if maybe its just luck of the draw. I find I myself do not have the green thumb needed to grow plants in the little plots.

remember the gardens are a player made script... so they have some bugs... one is the weeds... if you get weeds or not depends on your skills in what ever the seed you plant requires.... the higher your skill the less likely you get weeds. You need to watch them and make sure they go to plants and not weeds and if they go to weed pick them fast... this is to prevent them not being able to be pulled at all later.... then a gm will have to delete them....

Most things use lumberjacking of all things.... (if you have a suggestion for this changing to something more realistic let me know.. have been meaning to change this in for ever!) and cooking... which makes sence....
Things that mages use such as garlic and gensing I think require magery .... seems like there was only 3. It has been ages since I looked at that script. But if your still not getting results... I will look it up.
P.S. How is the new job going? We were talking about teaching you to script... are you still able to do this? INterested? Have time? Things are calming down around here at the moment.... since I am *waiting on some major scripts before we get to heavy rolling, I.E. GMtool upgrade and static house upgrade*

I would recomend the following:
Veggies like Carrots, Lettus, Corn, Wheat - COOKING Cotton, Flax - TAILORING Garlic - MAGERY
I am not sure on all the possible items to grow in a garden because I have SE and cannot tell what the seed choices are unless I go buy them. I do agree that those would be needed for growing them.
That is my input anyway ;D

I never did understand why lumberjacking had any sort of effect on you picking/planting a vegetable... I mean, Any dipstick can pluck an ear of corn off a stalk right? Ya just walk up to the plant and YOINK! The hard part is knowing how to plant and tend to your greenery. I don't really think there is any sort of skill in relation to this.. with exception to mining... ya know... digging a hole to put said plant in... ya gotta know how deep right? *scratches head and ponders this some more*

well I would think it more of a str and dex thing... in real life it wears you out working on a garden... if it is very large....
More of an endurance thing.... I am not sure if it needs or should needs skills..... see my delima?
