Dead wood...

Here is a quest I used to do but am having problems with again. I know where the dangerous moving trees where to get the dead wood...the problem is that I had a rune to where the scholar was to get the quest. But...alas...I never bothered to find out where the rune actually went to...big telescope and all. Is the quest still out there? Does anyone know where the big telescope is? Is the scholar still there?

I did indeed find the big telescope...thank you for your help Hera...and the scholar that hangs around by it. I found the dead willows. Fought hard, died once (wow do they pack a wollop in those branches)...returned the bit of dead wood and got a nice, but noisy, statue for my reward....stillworks....
